Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes how you may and may not use du-game-maker (https://du-game-maker.umfamily.org, https://app.du-game-maker.umfamily.org). It is part of the Terms of Service. By using the service, you agree to this AUP.

You may not use the service to:

Harmful or illegal activity

• Engage in any unlawful activity, or assist others in doing so.
• Violate, infringe, or misappropriate any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
• Distribute malware, viruses, worms, or any other malicious code.
• Conduct phishing, social engineering, or fraud.
• Engage in any activity that creates a risk of harm, loss, physical or mental injury, or property damage to any person.

Abuse of others

• Harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or intimidate any person.
• Publish content that is hateful, discriminatory, or that advocates violence against an individual or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Publish sexually explicit material involving minors, or content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.
• Publish non-consensual intimate imagery.

Abuse of the service

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the service, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
• Bypass, disable, or interfere with security features of the service.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without our prior written authorization (see “Security research” below).
• Use automated means to access the service in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure, or that we determine, in our sole reasonable judgment, is abusive.
• Resell, sublicense, or repackage the service to third parties without our prior written consent.
• Use the service to send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or to engage in any other form of unauthorized advertising.
• Use the service for cryptocurrency mining or other resource-intensive activities unrelated to the service’s intended use.

Misrepresentation

• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Provide false information when creating or maintaining an account.
• Use the service to impersonate du-game-maker or Um Family Labs, LLC.

API rate limits & fair use

If your account uses our API, you must respect the rate limits documented at https://du-game-maker.umfamily.org/help/api. Repeated or sustained excess that disrupts the service for other users may result in throttling, suspension, or account termination.

Security research

We welcome good-faith security research. If you believe you have identified a security vulnerability:

• Submit your finding to hello@du-game-maker.umfamily.org (or our security.txt at https://du-game-maker.umfamily.org/.well-known/security.txt).
• Do not publicly disclose the issue before we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate.
• Do not access user data beyond what is minimally necessary to demonstrate the issue.
• Do not run automated scans against production without coordination.

Responsible researchers will not face legal action for good-faith security research conducted in line with these guidelines.

Enforcement

We may, in our sole reasonable discretion:

• Investigate any suspected violation of this AUP.
• Restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the service for any user reasonably believed to be in violation.
• Remove or refuse to publish content that violates this AUP.
• Cooperate with law enforcement when required by law.

We will, where reasonably possible and not prohibited by law, give notice and an opportunity to cure before terminating access.

Reporting violations

Report violations of this AUP to hello@du-game-maker.umfamily.org. Include enough detail for us to investigate.

Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced at https://du-game-maker.umfamily.org/changelog. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
